Is Creamed Honey Good For You?
Hey Hunnies,
Today we’re going to dive into the question you may have been wondering: Is this delicious treat called Creamed Honey good for me? Being the fiancé of a beekeeper, Creamed Honey has become a staple in our household, and we feel very strongly about its role in our day-to-day diets. Essentially, creamed honey is just honey, in a different state. This means that the nutritional components that are present in regular honey, are just the same in our Creamed Honey.
When you think of honey, creamed or not, you probably think of one word only: Sugar. And there’s no denying it; honey is pure sugar - natural sugar that is. Honeybees consume the rich nectar of flowers and internally change it’s composition to create the thick, sticky honey we know and love. It’s our opinion that a sugar that is created naturally, and consumed raw, is certainly better than any sugar that has been synthesized or cooked up in a lab.
But don’t take our word for it, let’s look at the facts:
Honey contains trace amounts of protein, enzymes, vitamins & minerals
Rich anti-oxidants are naturally present in honey, which aid in the overall health of cells by fighting free radicals (contributors to cancer, heart disease, asthma, & strokes)
The anti-bacterial properties of honey make it extremely soothing for coughs and sore throats, as the honey will coat the throat and reduce of inflammation and bacteria (most effective when taken alone)
Raw honey naturally contains pollens from the flowers honeybees gather their nectar from; by eating raw honey, your body may slowly grow a resistance to those pollens and significantly reduce seasonal allergens. In this case, opting for Wildflower Honey (of which all of our creamed honey varieties are made of), will maximize your relief as you will be exposing your immune system to a much wider group of pollens.
And even better - creamed honey actually contains 0% cream, so we don’t have to worry about any of the additional effects cream may have on our diets!
All this being said, too much of a good thing is still not good for you - life is about moderation. But if you give us the choice between honey and literally any, other type of sugar, you can bet which we’re going to choose!

Not all honey’s are created equal however, and buyers should always look for pure, raw honey when choosing to go with honey versus another sweetener. This is because pure, raw honey has not been altered, and thus its natural properties remain.
