FAQ

Does honey go bad?

All of our honey is pure & raw and will never go bad due to the naturally high sugar levels found in unadulterated honey. Our pure wildflower honey is poured into jars as a liquid, however it may undergo a change of state into a solid over time (known as crystallization). Crystallization is 100% natural and will happen to all raw honey that has not been heat treated and it does not affect the quality of the honey. There is no real way of knowing how long this can take, usually it happens faster in the winter months than summer though due to the weather cooling down. While crystallization in inevitable, to prevent it for as long as possible you should store the honey in a warm place.

WHAT ABOUT CREAMED HONEY?

Creamed Honey is technically already in a crystallized state and is a smooth, spreadable, solid consistency. Again, because it is made from pure, raw honey and various combinations of raw spices, it will never go bad. If it is exposed to high temperatures however, such as 85+ degrees, it will begin to melt down back into a liquid state. This doesn’t compromise the honey at all, it only slightly changes the presentation in the jar. Our Signature Creamed Honey does not contain dairy.

HOW TO DECRYSTALLIZE YOUR HONEY

Honey can be decrystallized by placing the jar in the warm sun or in a warm water bath and repeating until the honey is liquid again. It is best to remove the lid of a crystallized jar when warming it, as the warm honey will expand and may overflow.

Is your honey gluten free?

100% raw honey is naturally gluten free, as none of these grains are used in its preparation, and 100% of our honey is pure and raw. Some flavors of our Signature Creamed Honey contain high quality raw spices and herbs that usually do not gluten.
